26 Mart 2010′da VKV Koç Özel Lisesi öğrencileri Türkiye’de uygulanan ilk Life Choices Today simülasyonuna katıldılar. Program İngilizce olduğundan biz de onlara program hakkındaki düşüncelerini İngilizce sorduk—programın Türkçeleştirilmiş halini de hazırlıyoruz bu arada.

What did you think of this experience?

• The opportunity helped me to think deeper in any means, for example if I ever face a crisis again, I’ll think twice about the measures I’d be planning to take since there is no “going back” at all.
• By this simulation, I experienced that choices and decisions about your life and future should be done carefully because the first choices are going to become the basis of our future and will be hard to change them after time has passed.
• I think it is so new for us. Because I felt like an adult and I started understand(ing) my parents… Making mistakes is a way of learning.
• It’s good to see that you can’t do all the things that you want in life. There is not enough time or money to do that.
• The best point of this simulation is learning something y experiencing it.
• Endeavoring to strive excessively fast is more likely to result in a deterioration rather than success of advancement.
• This experience wasn’t just a game for me. I learned a lot of things and I decided to make them in real life. I recognized we need our family and sometimes education isnt enough to get a job.
• I learned that life wasn’t fair.

What was the most striking learning point for you?

• If you want something to happen, you should cancel something. For example, I wanted to get money so I didn’t use my money to spend on friendships, health, culture, charity, community; I used all of my money in investments. However I looked at character greatness of my life and saw that I haven’t got fun…
• How important it is to use time efficiently.
• Experience is one of the most important issues to get a job.
• I learned that there is no going back, it is life you can’t rewind it.
• I think the most striking thing was to learn that without our parents we would probably die.
• You can’t achieve balance. If you want to be successful in life you have to sacrifice something.
• That we had to spend so much money on relationships. Plus I learned that experience was as important as education.
• Acknowledging that perfect balance is impossible to attain but keeping that in mind to always demanding the better.
• I learned that I am on my own in life; nobody’s dreams are the same with mine. Every single person reacts differently to the same event. Therefore I can’t criticize people for their decisions.
• What people want isn’t money; they want their dreams to be real to use money as a step.
• Time is the most important thing in your life because even though you can cheat people about our money, you can’t cheat them about your time.
